Cristina Rodrigues joined the Assembly of the Republic through PAN, a party for which she was elected a deputy in 2019. A year later, she left this party due to disagreements with the leadership then headed by André Silva and became an unregistered deputy.

In March 2022, at the beginning of the previous legislature, she was hired as a parliamentary advisor to Chega, and in the last legislative elections she was elected a deputy for the party led by André Ventura. In the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Cristina Rodrigues is the coordinator of Chega.

In today's meeting, the president of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, the social democrat Paula Cardoso, asked her who from Chega would be the rapporteur for the PAN's bill, which aims to increase penalties for death or harm to the physical integrity of animals. Cristina Rodrigues replied immediately: "Myself".

As for the PCP's bill that aims to prohibit the State from resorting to arbitration to resolve administrative and fiscal disputes, another diploma whose report was the responsibility of Chega, Cristina Rodrigues referred it to her bench colleague Rodrigo Taxa.

In today's meeting, the rapporteurs were also appointed for the Chega and PCP bills on the allocation of the supplement to the security forces, to the military of the Armed Forces and to other workers who exercise authority or criminal police functions. Of these two diplomas, the rapporteur will be the PSD deputy António Rodrigues.

The vice-president of the PS bench Pedro Delgado Salves will be the rapporteur for the bills of the Liberal Initiative, Livre, Bloco de Esquerda and PAN that aim to change the electoral law for the Assembly of the Republic, creating a national compensation constituency.
