According to the statement to which Notícias ao Minuto had access, "considering the attendance of a large number of supporters to watch the match", the PSP will implement policing adapted to the circumstances, "integrating different valences of this Command, namely elements of the different Police Divisions, Traffic Division, Criminal Investigation Division, Rapid Intervention Teams, Metropolitan Unit of Sports Information and the Special Police Unit's Detached Force".
Therefore, the force will maintain public order, guarantee the necessary security conditions for the match to take place, regulate traffic and guarantee the safety of the teams involved in the sports event, as well as the monitoring, guidance and segregation of the supporters of the teams involved.
To this end, it provides advice and suggestions:
- Travel in advance, in order to avoid last-minute crowds;
- Concentration of the supporters of the visiting team, at 5:30 pm, next to the Parque de Bonjóia, for safe escort to the Stadium;
- Favour travelling to the Stadium by public transport;
- Do not carry objects that are prohibited for this type of event.
In the letter, the PSP also appeals to all supporters to participate in the event in a festive spirit, "trying to respect the other participants and follow the Police's instructions, thus collaborating in their own safety".
