US vows to work to free hostages held by Hamas
US President Joe Biden pledged today that he will not rest until the Israeli hostages held by the Hamas movement are freed.

"I will not rest until every hostage taken by Hamas from their families and held against their will is returned to their loved ones," Joe Biden said in a message quoted by Europa Press.
Biden recently released an image of Abigail Edan, four, who was held by Hamas and freed in November.
"Last year, we secured the release of Abigail, a four-year-old girl who was held captive by Hamas. She is a remarkable child, and she is recovering from unspeakable trauma," the post read.
There have been no further prisoner exchanges since then.
The death toll in the Israeli military offensive on the Gaza Strip since the start of the war has risen to 34,388, the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza said on Friday.
According to local authorities, controlled by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, at least 34 people have died in the past 24 hours in Israeli army attacks on the Gaza Strip.
