Hezbollah retaliates for death of 2 civilians with dozens of rockets at Israel
Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets at the northern Israeli town of Margaliot on Tuesday in response to an Israeli airstrike that killed a woman and a girl in a home in southern Lebanon.

"The fighters of the Islamic Resistance targeted the settlement of Margaliot, the occupied Lebanese town of Hunin, late Tuesday afternoon with dozens of 'Katyusha' rockets," the Lebanese Shiite group said in a statement.
According to the movement, the launch was a response to an attack by Israeli aircraft on a house in the Lebanese town of Hanine, which killed a woman and her underage niece, according to the official ANI news agency.
The state media also said that six other people were injured in the bombing of the house, which was completely destroyed by the impact of two missiles.
In addition to the action against Margaliot, Hezbollah claimed responsibility on Tuesday for seven other attacks on groups of soldiers and military positions in the north of the Jewish state, the strongest using several drones against a barracks located about 15 kilometers from the common border.
This militant group, which has intensified its attacks in recent days, usually only targets border positions.
For more than six months, Israel has been bombing targets increasingly deep in Lebanon, and its drones regularly target members of the pro-Iranian movement.
The exchanges of fire between Israel and Hezbollah since the beginning of the war in Gaza, on October 7, have killed 378 on the Lebanese side, including 252 fighters from the Lebanese movement and about 70 civilians, according to an AFP count.
In northern Israel, eleven soldiers and eight civilians were killed, according to the army. Tens of thousands of inhabitants had to flee the area on both sides of the border.
According to the Associated Press (AP) news agency, Israel has regularly committed "targeted assassinations" of members of the Islamist movements Hezbollah and Hamas in Lebanon, sometimes in areas far from the border.
The Lebanese group Hezbollah and its allies have been attacking Israel along the border for more than six months, in the context of the Israeli war against the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas in the Gaza Strip, prompting almost daily responses from Tel Aviv.
The war in Gaza began on October 7, after the Hamas attack on Israeli territory, which killed more than 1,200 people and kidnapped more than 240, and led to Israel's subsequent military operation in the enclave, which has already caused more than 34,000 deaths, according to the local Ministry of Health, controlled by Hamas.
