Do you have old bread at home and don't know how to use it? You can make toast or, if you want something more complex, turn it into breadcrumbs to use in different types of recipes. It's a recommendation from Marta Stewart. Want to try it?
First you have to break the leftover bread into pieces. Store the pieces in a freezer bag and add more until it is full. You can (and should) include different types of bread from whole wheat to seed bread. It is a way to make more interesting breadcrumbs "with some texture and flavor".
When the bag is completely full, place the semi-frozen pieces of bread in the food processor and mix "until you get the desired crumb size". To create a tastier breadcrumb you can add other ingredients such as "herbs, grated cheese, butter or olive oil".
It is important to remember that "homemade breadcrumbs are more moist than store-bought breadcrumbs". So you should store yours in the freezer to make them last longer.
