Besides the most well-known methods and food, there are simple breathing exercises that can help you fall asleep in an instant. For example, experts from the Sleep Foundation, a non-profit organization, recommend one that most people can do easily.

It is a technique called 4-7-8 and, of course, as with all other types of breathing exercises, it is advisable to start by practicing for only a few minutes before going to sleep. Over time you can start betting on longer sessions.

Want to try? It's very simple! First, breathe in through your nose for four seconds; then hold your breath for seven seconds; and finally breathe out through your mouth for eight seconds "allowing the exhalation to make a natural sound as if you were blowing out a candle".
