Need to start the day with something quick, filling and healthy? Look no further than porridge, and this recipe from BBC Good Food is a great budget-friendly yet delicious option.

Ingredients: 
85g porridge oats
½ tsp ground cinnamon, plus extra to serve (optional)
250ml fortified soya milk 
2 small apples, preferably red
15g raisins
7-8 walnut halves, about 15g, roughly chopped

Method: 
1- Tip the oats and cinnamon into a pan with 150ml water and the soya milk. Bring to the boil, then simmer for 5 mins, stirring often, until thickened.
2- Meanwhile, grate the apples, including the skin, into a bowl, discarding the cores.
3- Divide the porridge between bowls and top with the apple, raisins and walnuts. Sprinkle with a little extra cinnamon, if you like.
