Want to get more out of your produce? Start with the peels of your oranges and lemons. They can do wonders for your plants, and they’re surprisingly useful in the kitchen too. Don’t believe us? Martha Stewart has shared three delicious ways to repurpose the rinds of these citrus fruits. It’s easy as, well, pie.

Three tasty ways to (re)use orange and lemon peels:
- Citrus sugar. Combine sugar with the zest of an orange, lemon, or lime. “Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for several weeks.” Then try the citrus sugar in cookies or tea;
- Citrus salt. Do the same as above, but with salt instead, then use in cocktails or as a finishing salt for savory dishes;
- Citrus syrup. Make a simple syrup that’s perfect for cocktails and desserts.
