Height
“Stomach sleepers tend to do well with a thinner pillow to avoid neck strain and keep their spine in a neutral position,” says Martin Seeley of Mattress Next Day. He recommends a pillow that’s three inches tall or less.
Firmness
“Memory foam pillows can work well for stomach sleepers because they provide support and comfort by conforming to the head and neck.”
Material
“Look for soft, down-filled pillows that are pliable enough to allow your head to sink in without putting your spine out of alignment. If you have neck pain, a memory foam pillow is your best bet,” says Shelby Harris of Sleepopolis.
