José Castelo Branco: "I will have to work, even if it's at McDonald's"
The entire case of alleged domestic violence by the socialite against Betty Grafstein was the subject of a new investigation by journalist Sandra Felgueiras.

The case of alleged domestic violence by José Castelo Branco against his wife, Betty Grafstein, was the subject of today's investigative report, May 10, on TVI's 'Jornal Nacional'.
Led by Sandra Felgueiras, the broadcast recalled the main events of the controversy, starting with Betty's hospitalization, which occurred on April 20.
On that day, the two were at the Hotel Inglaterra, in Lisbon, when José thought it best to take Betty to the CUF Hospital in Cascais, this after a fall and the jewelry designer had an injury to her arm.
The next day, José confessed to having questioned the medical team about the fact that Betty "looked like a zombie", at which point he was told that she had been medicated to "calm the pain", even before she was given another "medication to sleep".
Then, José revealed, for the first time, that a doctor told him that Betty did not want to see him. "I have seen a lot of domestic violence", the person in question will also have said, which left the socialite outraged.
Regarding Betty's statements, repeated several times by TVI, in which it is said that José is "a vulture" and that it was he who pushed her, the art dealer guarantees: "That person is not my Betty talking about me". "Do you believe she was induced?", Sandra Felgueiras then asks, with José responding in the affirmative.
Later on during the report, José decided to call two employees who work at his and Betty's house in New York, in order to show Sandra Felgueiras that the testimony of these people is very different from what was collected on another occasion, when a former employee claims to have seen the socialite assaulting his companion. "My God, I can't believe it. I feel so bad, that's wrong. I don't know why Lady Betty said that, but José treats her very well, treats her as she should be treated", said Laverne, who has been working with the couple since 2018.
The report concluded with José talking to Sandra Felgueiras about what he will do in the coming days, while he awaits the resolution of this process. "I will have to work, even if it is at McDonald's, I will have to stay in Portugal for one reason: I will not leave Betty or abandon her, I will fight to the end to be by Betty's side and for my lawyers to quickly get me to be side by side with the one I love", he concluded.
