Amalia of the Netherlands opens up about her time living in hiding in Spain
The princess spent some time in Madrid in 2023, a fact that was only revealed this April.

Amalia of the Netherlands, spoke for the first time about the time she lived in Spain, something that was only revealed this month during the official visit of the Spanish kings to Amsterdam, when King Willem thanked his Spanish counterpart for his support during this period.
The Princess of Orange revealed to Dutch public television that "due to circumstances", she had to move to Madrid in 2023. "I must say, honestly, that it was a wonderful time".
"I am happy to be back, but, in fact, there I was able to find a little more freedom than here in the Netherlands", said the princess, thanking all those who supported her and made it possible for her stay in Madrid to happen with the utmost discretion.
It should be recalled that Amalia of the Netherlands, 20, had already suffered death threats from the mafia, which caused her to spend much more time at the Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague, and even gave up living in Amsterdam, a decision she had made together with her parents when she went to college.
