In a statement sent to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM), the CUF Group indicates that it obtained "a consolidated net income of 37.8 million euros in 2023, 9.5% more than that recorded in 2022".

The group associates the results with the growth of the network, the number of clients and the scope of the services provided, emphasising the "important contribution" of the workers, which "was recognised with the allocation of an extraordinary bonus of 11 million euros, also continuing the investment in the appreciation of salaries through a 7.8% increase in the wage bill".

CUF highlights the year-on-year growth of over 12% in consultations, hospitalisation days and surgeries and the 10.5% increase in emergency services.

Consolidated operating income reached 755.9 million euros, an 18.8% increase compared to 2022, and consolidated EBIT (operating income) increased by 26.6% to 72.8 million euros.

The infrastructure segment represented 26.7% of the net income, indicates the group.

According to the information, the ratio of net financial debt to EBITDA (operating income plus amortisations and depreciation and provisions and impairment losses) reduced from 4.67 times at the end of 2022 to 4.19 times, due to the improvement in EBITDA, and the financial autonomy ratio remained at approximately 21%, in line with the values of 2022.

The private health group also states that, in 2023, the investment in expansion, innovation and research amounted to over 120 million euros, "close to double that recorded in 2022".

In 2023, CUF expanded its geographical scope to the autonomous regions, with the acquisition of Hospital CUF Açores and inaugurated Clínica CUF Leiria, "the first step towards opening a future hospital in 2025", can be read in the document.

The expansion strategy also included the presentation of the future Hospital CUF Covilhã, which will be completed in 2027, and the launch of the acquisition process of the Arrifana de Sousa Medical Clinic Group, in the north, which includes a hospital and six clinics located in the Tâmega e Sousa region.
