In a statement, the Government of Luís Montenegro states that the Council of Ministers approved "the decree-law that regulates the organization and functioning of the 24th Constitutional Government".
"The new organization results from a balance between minimizing transition costs and concentrating the organic modifications on aspects that correspond to the Government's strategic priorities", the text reads.
According to the same statement, "the execution of European funds, the establishment and creation of opportunities for young people in Portugal, administrative streamlining and modernization, and also "an integrated and long-term policy for the qualifications of the Portuguese" are reflected in organic changes.
The "resolution of the infrastructural impasse and the serious difficulties in accessing housing" is another of the Government's priorities reflected in this new organic structure.
Following the early elections of March 10, the PSD/CDS-PP Government led by Luís Montenegro took office in early April, succeeding the socialist executive of António Costa.
