The position taken by Coca-Cola Europacific Partners CCEP) Portugal Unipessoal, Lda., in Palmela, in the district of Setúbal, arises following the strike called for today by the Federation of Agriculture, Food, Beverage, Hotel and Tourism Trade Unions of Portugal (FESAHT), for "decent wage increases and the negotiation of the list of demands".
In a press release sent to Lusa, the company also claims that it had already started the negotiation process with the Workers' Committee and the Trade Union Committee last February.
"In Portugal, the collective work agreement is negotiated at the sector level, so there is no obligation for negotiations between CCEP and the Trade Union Committee", the note states, adding that "it was the company's will to start a negotiation process for the salary review".
"The goal is to ensure the well-being of our employees and guarantee the salary competitiveness of all the company's workers in Portugal", adds CCEP.
The company also stresses that in recent years it has been working with the "dual objective" of promoting "competitiveness and improving the conditions of employees, namely improvements in health insurance and food allowance, allocation of life insurance and an increase in the base salary".
Coca-Cola did not provide any information about the adherence to this Friday's strike.
