PRR Beneficiaries received another 29 million in the last week

The direct and final beneficiaries of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) received 4.242 billion euros until Wednesday, 29 million euros more than the amount accumulated until the previous week, it was announced.

According to the latest monitoring report, the total value of payments corresponds to 19% of the allocation and contracted value and 24% of the approved amount.

The companies (1.616 billion euros) received the largest amounts, followed by public entities (1.004 billion euros).

Public companies (459 million euros) and local authorities and metropolitan areas (374 million euros) also stand out.

Next are schools (275 million euros), higher education institutions (175 million euros), families (163 million euros), social and solidarity economy institutions (94 million euros) and scientific and technological system institutions (81 million euros).

In turn, project approvals amounted to 17.577 billion euros, up from 17.570 billion euros last week.

Companies also lead project approvals, with 5.797 billion euros.

They are followed by public entities (4.815 billion euros), public companies (2.734 billion euros) and local authorities and metropolitan areas (2.165 billion euros).

Below are higher education institutions (663 million euros), schools (429 million euros), social and solidarity economy institutions (also with 429 million euros), scientific and technological system institutions (340 million euros) and, finally, families (204 million euros).

As of April 24, 322,567 applications were submitted to the PRR, 910 more than last week, and 212,491 were analyzed.

Approved applications amounted to 168,041, five more than last week.

Of the 463 milestones and targets agreed with the European Union, Portugal has already met 102 and three remain under evaluation.

The amount transferred by Brussels to Portugal is 7.772 billion euros.

On September 22, 2023, the European Commission approved the revision of Portugal's PRR, which now amounts to 22.2 billion euros.

This change includes the financial allocation of the European energy program RepowerEU (704 million euros), as well as the unused portion of the 'Brexit' adjustment reserve (81 million euros).

The PRR, which has an implementation period until 2026, aims to implement a set of reforms and investments with a view to recovering economic growth.

In addition to aiming to repair the damage caused by covid-19, this plan also aims to support investments and generate employment.
