Ugarte remembers Sporting as a "beautiful group" and highlights Coates

Manuel Ugarte left his mark on his short stint at Sporting, between 2021 and the summer of 2023. He only won one League Cup, but he stood out in the service of the lions and ended up being sold to Paris Saint-Germain for 60 million euros. He recalled Sporting in an interview with the Youtube channel La Cocina de Kesman.
"We had the League Cup final and we won it. We couldn't win the League but I learned a lot. In the first year I didn't play that much, in the second year I did, but you also have to see that I arrived at a team that had been champions after almost 20 years. Sporting's group was very beautiful and they welcomed me very well", he began by saying.
Shortly after, Ugarte highlighted two colleagues in the lions' squad. "Seba [Coates] was very important when I arrived at Sporting. We still talk today. He helped me a lot, a lot, on and off the pitch. We lived very close to three blocks; we had very beautiful times, but not only Seba, also Franco [Israel] was important. I was very happy and enjoyed it", said the midfielder.
In his debut season, Ugarte has been a starter for PSG, with 35 games played, despite some physical limitations. He is on the verge of becoming French champion.
