Brazilian international Marta, elected the best player in the world on six occasions, has stated that this is her last year wearing the national team jersey. The statement was made in an interview with CNN. At 38 years of age, the Orlando Pride athlete expressed her desire to participate in the last Olympic Games.

"If I go to the Olympics, I will enjoy every moment, because, regardless of whether I go to the Olympics or not, this is my last year with the national team. There will be no more Marta from 2025 in the national team as an athlete, there will not be", she revealed.

The player said that she is calm about the decision, stating that it is time to stop. She is optimistic about the future of the national team and the young athletes of Brazilian women's football.

"This is my last year, I can confirm that here. There comes a time when we have to understand that the time has come. I am very calm about this, because I see with great optimism the development that we are having with the young athletes", she reports.
