"Conceição's renewal? Shameful. Stop toying with the members"

In the final stretch of the electoral campaign for FC Porto's social bodies, the renewal of Sérgio Conceição became one of the hot topics. The incumbent, Pinto da Costa, announced today the renewal of the coach for another four years, a few hours before the electoral act.
At the closing of the campaign at the Arena Super Bock, in Porto, André Villas-Boas spoke about what happened, in statements quoted by the newspaper O Jogo.
"I remain focused on clarifying with the coach and discussing the project. It is important to demonstrate our philosophy and ensure that the coach has this understanding. It is to wait for the coach's official position, to go beyond the promising phrases. Many have been made, such as David Carmo being sold... I hope to know his reasons. I want to sit down and show our project, to verify the viability of the work we propose."
Villas-Boas also recalled, between the lines, the construction of the Academy, an act previously criticized by him. "The only criticism is to the president, who should stop playing with the members. We are three days away from the elections and it is enough to make structuring decisions that could jeopardize the future of FC Porto. Let the members vote freely. If his project wins, then he should take the measures. These announced measures are shameful. The members do not deserve it," he said.
