Reigning European champions set for 'crazy' summer spending spree

Manchester City have £230m to spend and Joao Neves is on the list

The summer transfer window opens in just over two months, and Manchester City will already be preparing to splash the cash as they have done in recent years. According to reports on Tuesday from British outlet GiveMeSport, Pep Guardiola will have a budget in the region of £200m to spend and has already identified a number of potential targets, including Benfica's Joao Neves. The Catalan coach has identified central midfield as an area of his squad that needs strengthening and has earmarked Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala and West Ham's Lucas Paqueta as possible options. It is a move that would appear to be in anticipation of the Premier League champions potentially losing Bernardo Silva and Kevin de Bruyne, who have both been heavily linked with moves away in recent months.
