In the first quarter report of the year, the APCVD indicates that between January 1 and March 31, 2024, "95 measures prohibiting access to sports venues came into effect, of which 60% were applied as precautionary measures (57) and 40% as additional sanctions (38), after completion of the respective processes".

Of the 463 decisions issued, 227 were convictions, of which 67 were final and no longer subject to appeal, 133 were filed and 103 were referred to the Public Ministry for incurring criminal offenses.

The APCVD presents as examples of recent sanctions, the one applied to a 22-year-old young man, of 1,500 euros of fine and 20 months of prohibition from sports venues, for using pyrotechnics, inciting violence and throwing objects, in a game of the district championships of the Viana do Castelo association.

This police authority also points out the case of a fan who was temporarily prevented from entering stadiums and, even so, invaded the pitch in the semi-final of the Football League Cup between Sporting and Sporting de Braga, being punished with eight months of prohibition and a fine of 500 euros.

In the same situation - preventively prohibited from accessing sports venues - a 52-year-old fan was sentenced to a fine of 1,500 euros and 16 months of prohibition, for throwing objects and introducing alcoholic beverages in a glass bottle in sports venues, in a game of the II Division of the National Junior Championship.

Using data from the National Sports Information Point (PNID), the authority reports that "on this date, around 420 people are prohibited from accessing sports venues, the majority of the prohibitions being applied by the APCVD, and the rest applied by judicial courts".

In about four years, the APCVD applied almost 1,500 prohibitions of access to sports venues, of which almost 1,200 have already come into effect.
