Benfica and União Sportiva in the final of the women's basketball league
Benfica, by eliminating the defending champion GDESSA in the semi-finals, and União Sportiva, by eliminating Esgueira, qualified today for the final of the 2023/24 edition of the Women's Basketball League.

In a repeat of last season's final, the 'incarnates' completed the comeback at Luz, with a 73-63 triumph, after having won 51-43 on Saturday at the same venue in a tie that began with GDESSA's home triumph (50-47).
Keilanei Cooper, with 20 points, Isabela Quevedo, with 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Raphaella Monteiro, with 17 points, 11 rebounds and four assists, led the 'incarnates'.
In the Barreiro team, the best was Krystal Freeman, with 20 points and five rebounds.
On the other hand, União Sportiva also reached 2-1 against Esgueira after a new home triumph, now by 61-55, after Saturday's clear 60-43 victory. In the first game, the Aveirenses had triumphed at home by 63-60.
In the 'black', the highlight for the hosts was Monique Pereira, with 11 points and 15 rebounds, Luana Serranho, with 13 points, seven assists and four rebounds, and Eva Carregosa, with 16 points.
Vashti Nwagbaraocha, with 11 points, was Esgueira's top scorer, while Trudy Walker-Benjamin had eight points and 19 rebounds.
União Sportiva has three titles, in 2014/15, 2015/16 and 2017/18, while Benfica, who have already won the Portuguese Cup this season, were champions in 2020/21 and 2021/22.
