The 38-year-old Argentinian, who is recovering from an injury to his right knee, watched the match, which ended in a 3-3 draw, from the visiting team's box, where he was seen pointing the laser at Andrada, the home team's goalkeeper.

The president of Monterrey, Jose Antonio Noriega, went to the box and took the laser away from Guzmán, during the first half of the game.

In addition to the suspension, Nahuel Guzmán was fined and will have to do unspecified community service.

The Mexican Football Federation also fined Esteban Andrada, for a post on social media, where he made homophobic comments about Nahuel Guzmán, and both teams, for the behaviour of their fans.

The match between Monterrey and Tigres was for the 15th round of the Mexican football championship's closing tournament, which is led by América.
