AS Monaco won 1-0 today at home against Rennes, for the 28th round of the French football league, and consolidated the third position, 11 points behind the leader Paris Saint-Germain and one behind the second Brest.

The goal that was worth three points was scored by Maghnes Akliouche at 25 minutes, with the match being marked by the expulsions of Martin Terrier at 46 minutes for Rennes, and Thilo Kehner at 64 for Monaco.

The Monegasque team remains in third place, with 52 points, one behind Brest, second, who beat Metz 4-3, and 11 behind the leader Paris Saint-Germain, who on Saturday drew 1-1 at the Parc des Princes with the bottom-placed Clermont.

Brest received and beat Metz 4-3, who took the lead through the Ivorian Ismael Traoré, quickly canceled out, even before the break, with goals from Brendan Chardonnet (12 minutes), Kamory Doumbia (31) and Steve Mounie (38).

Already in the second half, at 60 minutes, the Uruguayan striker Martin Satriano scored the fourth goal for Brest, with Metz still responding through the Georgian striker Georges Mikautadze, who scored twice, at 74 and 80.

Brest remains in second place, with 53 points, 10 less than the leader PSG and four more than Lille de Paulo Fonseca, third, who beat Marseille 3-1 on Friday, Benfica's opponent in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

Lyon were losing at home to Nantes, who scored through Matthis Abline at 16 minutes, but the team of the Portuguese goalkeeper Anthony Lopes turned the game around and won 3-1 with goals from Alexandre Lacazette (75), the Belgian Malick Fofan (77) and the Nigerian Gift Orbán (90+7).

Lyon remains in 10th place, with 38 points, one behind Rennes (9th) and Marseille (8th), while Nantes is 15th, with 28, being the first club above the relegation line.

Reims and Nice drew 0-0 and delayed each other in the pursuit of their most direct opponents at the top of the standings, remaining in seventh position, with 40 points, and fifth, with 44, respectively.

Toulouse and Strasbourg also drew 0-0 and remain tied with 33 points in 11th and 12th positions, respectively.

In the escape from the relegation places, Montpellier won 2-0 at home against Lorient, with goals from Téji Savanier, at 55 minutes, from a penalty, and from the Ivorian Yann Karamoh, at 90.

Montpellier remains in 13th place, with 32 points, while Lorient is 16th, with 26, occupying the access position to the maintenance play-off, with three points of advantage over Metz (17th) and five over Clermont (18th and last).
