Blues and rock festival on Friday and Saturday in Vilar Formoso
Almeida City Council, in the Guarda district, is organizing this Friday and Saturday the 2nd edition of the "Vilar Formoso Peace Border -- Blues and Rock Festival", which promises two days of music and entertainment.

"It's a festival that aims to boost this brand that is 'Vilar Formoso Border of Peace', make it known and promote our gastronomy and our traditions", the president of the Almeida Municipal Council, António Machado, told the Lusa agency.
The mayor stressed that the goal is to have a lively two-day event, with the participation of local associations and the promotion of local traditions.
The 2nd edition of the "Vilar Formoso Border of Peace -- Blues and Rock Festival" will take place at the Multipurpose Pavilion in Vilar Formoso. The organization decided to continue holding the event indoors and expectations are high.
"Last year it brought many people who like blues and rock from all the neighboring municipalities, but also from the region, such as Viseu, Coimbra, Aveiro and Ciudad Rodrigo and Salamanca [Spain]. We have felt that it is a project that has legs to walk on. We are in this attempt that it can walk alone", pointed out the mayor.
With this edition, the Almeida Municipal Council intends to launch the brand and "also pull for local groups to project musical activity".
António Machado argues that the project will have a sense of growth, and there is a need to understand how it can walk alone in the future.
The Festival starts on Friday, the 26th, with the opening of the space scheduled for 6:30 pm. The concerts take place, on both days, from 9:30 pm.
On Friday, Vítor Bacalhau, Chino Swingsilde and Contraband & Friends will perform. On Saturday, the space reopens at 6:30 pm and The Cinelli Brother, Portuguese Blues Reunion with Paulo Gonzo and João Cabeleira will take to the stage. The event ends with the band Sexta-Feira Santa.
The Festival has several food stalls, with various gastronomic options, highlighting the novelty of the francesinha raiana.
