WhatsApp could start banning more people (a lot) very soon
It all depends on the type of use you give the messaging app.

WhatsApp appears to be working on a way to protect users of the messaging app from scams and fraud, with WABetaInfo reporting that the initiative will involve assessing the behavior of such users.
The publication reports that the 2.24.10.5 update of the beta version for Android indicates that users who send automated mass messages, ‘spam’ and present this type of interaction will be punished with temporary restrictions.
Among these restrictions is the ability to create new conversations, but not preventing them from receiving and replying to messages in other conversations - be they individual or group conversations. Note that, since WhatsApp is equipped with encryption, the company cannot access the content of the messages, so the decision to apply restrictions will be based solely on the behavior of the users.
This feature is currently under development and should be released in a future update.
