"I did what I could, with some successes, with some mistakes", said the former President of the Republic Ramalho Eanes this Friday in a lecture-debate with high school and university students about the 25th of April, at the Museu dos Coches.

In the session, Ramalho Eanes told the young people where he was on the 25th of April, but also how this movement began before the specific date.

"I was in Angola, in the north, I was the second commander of a battalion, I was starting my fifth commission and I was 30 years old at the time. I expected it to happen because I embarked for Angola in January 1974 and had participated in the different meetings that had been held to organize a response to the regime that had created a situation of impasse. Because he wanted to continue the war, but when asked why, he was unable to answer", he said.

"How do you win a revolutionary war?", the general who was President of the Republic between July 1976 and March 1986, also questioned, under the watchful eyes of the students.
