The GNR detected two crimes and 51 offenses in the inspection of the trade of prohibited hunting equipment in pet stores, drugstores, agricultural cooperatives, fairs and markets, in the district of Porto, it was announced today.

The inspection actions, carried out by the Nature and Environment Protection Service (SEPNA) of Porto, took place between Wednesday and Sunday and covered 47 establishments, adds the Guard's statement.
Of the two crimes investigated, one was for illegal possession of a captive bird, in the first case a jay (garrulus glandarius) and in the second a blackbird (turdus merula), and for an illegal discharge of effluent into a stream, describes the press release.
The accounting also includes "27 environmental offenses and 24 general offenses", highlighting the Guard the "sale of non-selective capture means, irregular sale/storage of phytosanitary products, detention in captivity of protected species and lack of registration in the Animal Information System of Company (SIAC) and lack of training of canines".
The jay and the blackbird were seized, as well as 1,323 goods, continues the statement.
