Contacted by the Lusa agency, the president of CIMBB, João Lobo, confirmed that the searches were carried out by the PJ at its facilities in Castelo Branco last week.
The president of CIMBB and the Municipal Council of Proença-a-Nova said he was unaware of the reasons for the searches.
"I was not present, nor was I heard. The executive secretary of CIMBB, João Carvalhinho, was also not present during the action, since he was in Coimbra, at a meeting at the Regional Development and Coordination Commission of the Center (CCDRC)", he said.
João Lobo also added that the PJ inspectors presented a search warrant and did not ask to speak to those responsible for the CIMBB.
"During the diligence they were accompanied by two community technicians and documentation was collected from files and copies of other documents were made", he concluded.
