When taking stock of the operation of the first three months of the ULS of the Center, namely those of Coimbra, Viseu Dão Lafões, Cova da Beira, Leiria and Baixo Mondego, the SMZC reported today that several units have registered difficulty operating due to computer problems that are not resolved in a timely manner.
In these cases, professionals are unaware of the circuits that they should have at their disposal to resolve daily problems.
"With respect to human resources, the units find a void, having not taken precautions to replace professionals who leave the National Health Service (NHS), such as those who retire", added the union, affiliated with the National Federation of Doctors (FNAM), in a statement sent to the Lusa agency.
On the other hand, the processes of integrating care between primary health care (PHC), hospital and public health care "have not been updated", "having had a setback from those already existing, such as the monitoring of pregnant women".
"Until now, professionals have not had their salaries updated in accordance with the legislation in force, since January 1", criticized the management of SMZC, based in Coimbra, when warning that the contracting between local units and PHC "is stagnant and the performance evaluation process [Integrated Management and Performance Evaluation System in Public Administration, SIADAP] does not occur uniformly in different ULS".
The SMZC defended, finally, "the management autonomy of the different levels of care, as well as the rapid resolution of the problems identified, in order to ensure the timely provision of care to the population".
