PJ detains suspect of attempted murder with a glass bottle in Gaia
A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of having tried to kill another man with a broken glass bottle on Wednesday night, in Vila Nova de Gaia, announced today the Judiciary Police (PJ).

Following this attack, the victim suffered a serious lung injury and the alleged aggressor injuries to his hands, he added, in a statement.
That night, the suspect was with a friend when, for a futile reason, he got into an argument with a stranger in the Jardim do Morro area, in Vila Nova de Gaia, in the district of Porto, the PJ underlined.
"At one point, the detainee wielded a broken bottle and struck the victim several times, seriously injuring him," he said.
The PJ also added that the aggression only stopped when some people who were walking in the street came to his aid.
The man, suspected of attempted murder, will be presented to the Criminal Investigation Court for the first interrogation.
The alert for the incident was given at 9:37 p.m. on Wednesday, near the General Torres metro station, a source from the Metropolitan Command of Porto of the PSP told Lusa.
The incident involved the assault with a bladed weapon of two men on two other men, the same source explained, without detailing the injuries or the possible motive.
On Thursday, a police source indicated that the investigation into the disturbances that occurred had been passed to the Polícia Judiciária.
