'Ferry' accident in the port of Naples leaves at least 44 injured
At least 44 people were injured today in an accident involving a ferry that was traveling from the island of Capri and that crashed into a breakwater in the port of Molo Beverello, in Naples, southern Italy.

Early indications suggest that the disaster was caused by poor weather conditions in the region.
When it hit the pier, the ship injured a large group of people who were waiting to disembark, according to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica.
The authorities in Naples indicated that the injured were transferred to a local hospital.
The accident coincides with the summit of foreign ministers of the G7 - an organization formed by the United States, Germany, France, Italy, Canada, Japan and the United Kingdom - which was held on the island of Capri.
