Ludmilla has been in the spotlight because of a sentence that could be read in the video that stood out during her presentation at Coachella, where it was possible to read: "Only Jesus casts out the homeless from people".

The artist received several criticisms with accusations of "religious intolerance", as explained by the Brazilian press, having expressed herself, in the meantime, on X (formerly Twitter).

"When I said that you would have to make an effort to speak ill of me, I didn't think you would go that far. Today they took out of context one of the images from the video on the show's screen in 'Queen of the Favela', which brings several records of spaces and realities in which I grew up and lived for many years, wanting to rewrite its meaning, and putting me in a position that is completely contrary to mine", began by writing the singer.

"'Queen of the Favela' presents my favela, a real favela, naked and raw, where I grew up but unfortunately there are many problems: black genocide, police violence, misery, religious intolerance and so many other experiences of a people that overcome obstacles, that live in adversity, but that do not give up. This involves living in an often hostile environment, where on every corner you need to face the difficulties of the favela", she explained.

"My show begins with a very explicit message, which leaves no doubt about anything! Then I present the reality over which this discourse needs to prevail! About a favela without filters, without gourmetizations, without caricatured representations, a denunciation about the real. I am here for what is real and not this imported showcase version for gringos to think that this is a space that is reduced to funk, butt and beer", she added.

"I end my show with the sky filled with golden kites, which represent the hope that I want to plant in the hearts of all who deal with this reality! This video was made by a black and peripheral photographer/videomaker, so that it would have an inside-out look! Don't put me in this place, you know who I am and where I came from. Don't try to limit where I'm going. I respect all people as they are, and regardless of any faith, race, gender, sexuality or any particularity that makes them unique", she concluded.
