TAAG plans to resume this year Luanda-Praia flights with a stopover in São Tomé
Angola Airlines (TAAG) should resume this year the flights between Luanda and Praia, with a stopover in São Tomé and Príncipe, said today the president of the company, after being received by the Cape Verdean prime minister.

"This is a challenge that we have, not only for TAAG and TACV [Cabo Verde Airlines], but for the two peoples, in this case our three peoples, Angola, São Tomé and Cape Verde", said António dos Santos Domingos, after the meeting in Mindelo, São Vicente island.
TAAG suspended direct flights between Luanda and Praia in late 2016, with a stopover in São Tomé and Príncipe, claiming that the route was not profitable.
The airline's president said that it will receive new aircraft between July and September and from then on will be able to say "the specific day" of the resumption of operations.
Asked about the terms of the operation, the same official said that the company is in contact, explaining that economic issues "weigh heavily" on the frequency of connections.
"We are in negotiations with TACV to find the best frequency", he said.
TACV has international connections with Lisbon (Portugal), Paris (France) and Bergamo (Italy), with two planes, one of which has been leased since March 2022 from its Angolan counterpart TAAG.
António dos Santos Domingos announced that the leasing contract with the Cape Verdean flag carrier will be renewed for another year.
