At 6:00 p.m. (Lisbon time), the euro was trading at 1.0732 dollars, when on Wednesday, around the same time, it was trading at 1.0692 dollars.

The European Central Bank (ECB) set the exchange rate at 1.072 dollars.

During today's session, the US Department of Commerce confirmed that the country's GDP grew by 1.6% between January and March, below the 3.5% recorded in the last quarter of 2023.

This preliminary value shows a slower than expected growth of the US economy in the first quarter and is below the 2.1% that the United States Federal Reserve (Fed) forecasts for 2024 as a whole.
