The Finance Portal already records the delivery of over 2.7 million IRS statements on the 24th day of the deadline for taxpayers to declare their income obtained in 2023, according to the official data available.
According to the Finance Portal, up to 1:28 am this Wednesday, 2,785,958 statements had been submitted, the majority (2,120,085) from taxpayers who last year only had income from dependent work (category A) and/or pensions (category H).
The statements from taxpayers with other types of income were around 665,873.
It should be noted that in both cases the numbers include the approximately 40 thousand statements that had already been submitted this year and that refer to replacement statements or the first submissions of income relating to previous years - therefore not forming part of the current IRS campaign.
In last year's campaign, around six million IRS statements were settled, of which 32.7% were submitted through Automatic IRS and 67.3% manually.
The deadline for submitting the annual IRS statement ends on 30 June, with the law determining that the settlements must be completed by 31 July and the refunds paid by 31 August. The end of August is also the deadline for taxpayers who did not withhold tax at source or did so in an insufficient amount to pay the tax assessed by the Tax and Customs Authority (AT).
