Desporto FC Porto

Record broken: The mass adherence is a sign of the club's vitality, I'm very happy about it. Everything is running normally, as FC Porto's electoral acts always do, so I'm very satisfied.

Confident in re-election: I'm confident, to the extent that, during the campaign, I dealt with many people, not only those I went to, but also those who came to me, and they gave me great confidence. Sometimes, this is not reflected in the polls, but I'm confident. The members are the ones who choose, and whatever they choose, is correct for me.

Tense elections: List B did everything to divide the club, including influencing the results of our teams, as I will prove, when this calms down. It's natural to be tense, that people get excited, but it went too far, with people from List B insulting members of my list and myself. That's not typical of FC Porto's candidates for directors, but, once the polls are closed, I'll forget about it, and we'll all have to be from FC Porto.

Renewal of Sérgio Conceição and Academy: Why should I wait, if the candidate from List B was criticizing me for not having closed with Sérgio Conceição for longer? If the candidate said that the first thing he would do was sit down with Sérgio Conceição? It shouldn't be just to find out if he sleeps well to hire him. It was to hire him. If it was his and my will, there was no reason to waste time. Sérgio Conceição is a much sought-after coach, fortunately for him, by other clubs. We were not going to risk, in any way, not doing it. I don't understand where the criticism is. I also heard criticism of the deal we made for the stadium, that we should wait. I even heard a gentleman say, on television, that it was unethical. I don't understand where the lack of ethics is, because that contract was made, we will receive 65 million euros. We could have received it already, and we made a point of receiving it only in June, so that the new board will receive it. We didn't want to do that to anticipate revenue. We still leave the possibility that, if someone thinks the deal is bad, in July, return the 65 million euros and cancel the contract. I don't know where the lack of ethics is. The training center was an urgent need. We were criticized for taking so long. We've been in this process for two years. Only when we managed to overcome all the difficulties, many of which were put by List B, with anonymous complaints about this and that, obviously, we did the deed.

Operation Praetorian: If the fans knew that those close to List B, before that General Assembly, appealed to everyone to come in droves to film, to gather in groups, to call the journalists and the police... When the members really find out how it happened, I think it will benefit us a lot.

Plan B in case of defeat: If I don't win, I'll still be here, but without any duties. I'll become a member who lives the club without responsibilities, without problems, without worries. I've been a member of FC Porto for over 60 years, it's not time to leave, and I never would. I've been out of the board and I haven't stopped supporting FC Porto everywhere. FC Porto is one thing. I'm a member and a fan of FC Porto, that's one thing. Being a director is another, which gives me responsibilities and worries. If I don't win the elections, I'll stop having the worries, but I'll continue to follow FC Porto in all its sports.

Time to live if I don't win: I'll live my life more. I would enjoy my life more, go for walks and, perhaps, finally, have a vacation. After all these years, my vacations are spent with FC Porto.

Call André Villas-Boas in case of defeat: I don't have his number, I can't talk (...). Whoever wins, must receive the testimony and the dossiers. It's normal, it doesn't have to be Villas-Boas. If it's Nuno Lobo it's the same thing or any other.

Crowd in the elections: It's a sign of the club's vitality. The campaign was a bit uneven. I had the opportunity to give two interviews, one for SIC and another for Porto Canal. Otherwise, I didn't have the opportunity to give any more. There were newspapers in which he had full pages, and I didn't. I only had the opportunity to O Jogo and JN, he was in all the newspapers. During all this time, I had Correio da Manhã and Record insulting me. It was uneven, but the members are the ones who know the club well and know who interests them. If they understand that I should continue, I will continue with the same pleasure and passion as in 1982, when I took over the presidency. If they understand that I shouldn't, I'll leave peacefully, and they will be left with the responsibility of having voted for change. They will have the merit of everything that goes well, and they will be responsible for everything that goes wrong.

Sérgio Conceição as an electoral asset: I don't think it's important. Everyone wanted Sérgio. If it wasn't me, it would be the others. If I was criticized for not having renewed with Sérgio for longer, how can they criticize, now, for having renewed? If it rains, I'm guilty, if it's sunny, I'm guilty.
