Pinto da Costa explains Conceição's renewal 48 hours before the elections

Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa explained this Thursday, in statements given to Porto Canal, the reason why he renewed the contract with Sérgio Conceição just 48 hours before the elections for the presidency of FC Porto.
"For everything he has done, for the future of FC Porto, for the guarantee that we will continue to win. It may seem strange that it was only done today, but we wanted the positions to be defined and we were in the final of the Cup. I did it with all my will", began by affirming the maximum leader of the dragons.
"I was criticized by other lists for not having signed with Sérgio Conceição for a longer time, a sign that everyone wants him to continue. Other lists said that the first thing they would do was sit down with Sérgio Conceição, it shouldn't just be for coffee", he continued.
"If my list wins, I have fulfilled a primary need and I will have maintained the guarantee that football will be successful. If I don't win, the others have their lives made easier, they can even talk on the phone", he added.
The candidate for List A also said that he believes that this "is a stimulus and a security for the players, who will enter the final of the Cup of Portugal with the certainty that they will have the same helmsman who gave them so many successes".
