Armando Guimarães resigns from the vice-presidency of Vitória SC
Armando Guimarães has resigned from the vice-presidency of Vitória de Guimarães, a position to which he was elected in 2022, the Portuguese first division football club announced today in a statement released on its official website.

"Vitória Sport Clube informs that the vice-president Armando Guimarães presented his resignation at a board meeting, which was accepted by all those present. This decision implies the cessation of the functions exercised in the club since March 2022, so, for all the commitment and dedication over the last two years, Vitória publicly thanks Armando Guimarães", the note states.
Armando Guimarães' resignation is the second among the board elected on March 5, 2022, when the list headed by the current president, António Miguel Cardoso, surpassed the votes of the candidates Miguel Pinto Lisboa, his predecessor in the leadership of the Minhotos, and Alex Costa.
On August 11, 2022, another of the then-elected vice-presidents, Diogo Leite Ribeiro, announced his resignation.
According to an organizational chart published on February 1, 2023, Armando Guimarães oversaw the legal, personnel and associate departments of Vitória de Guimarães.
The board led by António Miguel Cardoso proposes the co-optation of Rui Rodrigues to fill the vacancy that belonged to Armando Guimarães, a decision that will be discussed and voted on at the next general meeting, to vote on the budget for the 2024/25 season, which normally takes place in June.
Rui Rodrigues was elected vice-president of the fiscal council of the Guimarães emblem in 2022 and became a member of the board of directors of Vitória's SAD in October 2023, as a non-executive director.
