The 50th anniversary of April 25 will be celebrated throughout the year, but as the date approaches, thousands of people have taken to the streets.

The celebrations began on Wednesday throughout the country, but especially in Lisbon, and promise to be more 'intense' on Thursday.

Several moments of celebration were captured, showing not only last night at the Carmo Barracks, but also the festivities on Thursday, when military vehicles paraded through the streets where half a century ago people fought for freedom.

There are images of these vehicles not only in Terreiro do Paço, but also on the way to Largo Carmo.
