President of the Republic awards MFA with the Order of Liberty
The President of the Republic today decorated the Armed Forces Movement (MFA), posthumously, with the rank of honorary member of the Order of Liberty during a commemorative dinner of April 25.

The insignia was awarded to the president of the 25th April Association, Colonel Vasco Lourenço, during a dinner with about a thousand people taking place at the Estufa Fria, in Lisbon, which also includes the prime minister, Luís Montenegro.
The MFA led the revolution of 25th April 1974 that ended more than 48 years of dictatorship of the New State, marking the beginning of the democratic period in Portugal that completes 50 years on Thursday.
