Two more minors have been charged with attempted murder in the case of an assault in Montpellier, France, earlier this month.

The information was released this Wednesday by the public prosecutor's office, which reports that there are now five minors charged in the case, after three other teenagers were 'caught' by the authorities in this assault the day after the assault.

BFMTV does not give many more details about these two new suspects, but states that one of them "was placed under judicial supervision".

The French publication also recalls other data already provided by the prosecutor's office, which reported that this assault happened "in the context of a group of teenagers who had a habit of insulting each other" on social networks.

According to what the mother of the victim, Samara, a 13 or 14 year old teenager, told the press at the time of the attack, on April 2, the assaults happened due to religious dimension, since her daughter had been labeled as a "disbeliever". The public prosecutor's office did not confirm this thesis. At the time, the mother said that her daughter "wears makeup" and one of the aggressors wears the veil. "She has been called 'kouffar', which means 'disbeliever' in Arabic. My daughter dresses in a European style. They call her 'kahba', which means 'prostitute'", she explained.

"They were there to kill her. She was unconscious on the floor and they continued to beat her. If this is not barbarism, what is?", she asked then.

The victim was attacked a few meters from the school, and even went into a coma, having been "traumatized" and "disoriented".
