The 15-year-old actor plays the protagonist of the sitcom 'Young Sheldon', a spin-off of 'The Big Bang Theory'.

Iain Armitage is saying goodbye to his character Sheldon on the sitcom 'Young Sheldon', which is a spin-off of 'The Big Bang Theory'. Among the posts he made on Instagram, one stands out: the image of one of the scenes in which he appears with fellow actor Lance Barber (who plays Sheldon's father, George Cooper).
The post by the actor - who is currently 15 years old and has played the character since he was 9 - was made on the social network on May 10, after the penultimate episode of the CBS sitcom on May 9.
In the episode, People reports, Sheldon faces a great tragedy: the death of his father, George Cooper, after suffering a heart attack.
The character's death was not exactly 'news', as it had been previously mentioned that George (played by Lance) dies when Sheldon is 14. However, fans were still saddened.
"Love you George! Love you Lance," one can read in the aforementioned post that actor Iain Armitage made on Instagram.
