Pedro Chagas Freitas left a text on social media, this Friday, April 26, in which he regrets the death of Paulo Abreu, the captain of the Clube Desportivo Xico Andebol.
The athlete was only 27 years old, which further increased the sadness felt by the writer.
"Life is sometimes a b****. We don't understand where injustice comes from. It leaves us bewildered, thrown off by an explanation, by a reason for the crap that sometimes hits us in the face. It seems that life sometimes spits on us, with a cruelty that we don't know where it comes from, why it comes," he began by writing.
"Paulo was a young man. I didn't know him personally, but I know he was a star. He grew up in the middle of handball. He was the captain of Xico, a leader on and off the field. A pride for Guimarães. He was an example. A champion. That's how he'll always be remembered. A champion of life doesn't fade away in the face of death. Never. Don't even think about it. We'll never give him that power," added the author of successful books such as 'Prometo Falhar' and 'Prometo Amar'.
Finally, Pedro Chagas Freitas sent a "warm hug to the family and friends" of Paulo Abreu.
