Macau inflation rose 1.09% in March
Macau's Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 1.09 percent year-on-year in March, the government announced today.

In terms of goods and services, the prices of recreation and culture and education recorded the largest increases, by 5.27% and 5.05% respectively, year-on-year, mainly due to the increase in prices of package tours and hotel rooms, as well as the rise in tuition fees of tertiary education, the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated in a statement.
The price index of the food and non-alcoholic beverages section (+1.78%) increased year-on-year, due to the increase in prices of meals bought outside home, it added.
The prices of the housing and fuels section (+0.22%) also rose, due to the increase in prices of liquefied petroleum gas. Meanwhile, the price index of the transport section (-3.31%) and that of communications (-0.23%) decreased year-on-year.
