Benfica 'avenge' league derby defeat to reach cup final
"Encarnadas" drew in Alcochete, benefiting from the triumph in the first leg of the tie to move forward.

Benfica's women's team qualified, this Sunday, for the Portuguese Cup final, after the draw achieved in the visit to Sporting (1-1), in the second leg of the competition's semi-finals that took place in Alcochete.
After the victory in the first leg of the tie, and with a defeat against the lionesses for the championship in between, the team led by Filipa Patão was the first to score. At 14 minutes, Jéssica Silva did not hesitate in front of Seabert and put Benfica in the lead in this match.
But bad luck knocked on the Portuguese international's door minutes later. Jéssica Silva complained a lot after a move with Brittany Raphino. Washed in tears, the forward left the pitch on a stretcher after 24 minutes of play.
The second half started practically with the equalizer goal by Sporting. At 48 minutes, and after a corner kick, Olivia Smith equalized in Alcochete, taking advantage of the passivity of the incarnated centre-backs to score.
On the way to the final whistle, Sporting sealed the comeback in the match, but the goal was disallowed. After the ball was put into the back of Lena Pauels' net, the refereeing team considered that Raphino had put the ball into the back of the net with her hand.
Sporting looked for a new goal until the final whistle, which would take the match into extra time, but the draw remained and Benfica celebrated the passage to the final of the Portuguese Women's Cup.
At the Jamor Stadium, the team led by Filipa Patão will face Racing Power, who eliminated Sporting de Braga on their way to their debut in the final of this competition.
