Boavista lamented the death of Artur Ferreira, this Friday, at the age of 76, recalling the times when the former Portuguese defender represented the chessboard, between 1976 and 1983, including with the status of team captain.

"To the bereaved family and friends, Boavista FC sends its deepest condolences. The flag will be flown at half-mast in tribute to Artur Ferreira, and a minute's silence has also been requested before the start of Saturday's game against CF Estrela Amadora", can be read in the statement from the chessboard.

The Bessa emblem also recalled that, with Artur Ferreira in the squad, it won the 1978/79 Portuguese Cup, against Sporting (1-0), as well as the 1979 Super Cup, against FC Porto (2-1), with a total of nine goals in 231 official games.
