Dele Alli gave an extensive interview to British TV station Sky Sports on Monday in which he said he has no doubt that, at 28 years old, he still has a lot to give at the highest level of world football.

The England international has not played since February 26 last year due to an injury sustained while on loan at Besiktas last season. Now back at Everton, he says he is feeling "really good" and is confident he will be back on the pitch soon.

"I tore my quad. I had to learn the art of patience, really. It's been a long journey with the injury, with a lot of ups and downs, but I've learned a lot and it's helped me grow as a person as well, so I'm grateful for that," he said.

"Obviously not for the injury, but it's been good to learn about myself. I think the pain of the injury is something I can definitely channel when I'm back and use it as motivation," added the midfielder.

"People were asking when I was going to retire and stuff, but I've only had one injury. One injury which I'm hopefully coming towards the end of. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now and I'm excited," he added.
