Fábio Melo and André Narciso will be VAR in two games in Turkey
Portuguese referees Fábio Melo and André Narciso will be performing the functions of video assistant referee (VAR) in Turkish football league matches this weekend, a source familiar with the process told Lusa.

Fábio Melo, from the Porto association, will be in the game between Alanyaspor and the leader Galatasaray, from Sérgio Oliveira, while André Narciso, from the Setúbal association, will be present in the match between Karagumruk and Fenerbahçe, current second place, with less two points.
The high-risk games of the Turkish championship will have foreign referees in the VAR, including from Portugal, until the end of the 2023/24 season, announced today the Turkish Football Federation.
The organization established an agreement with the counterparts of Portugal, Italy, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands to count on VAR from those federations in the most relevant games of the Turkish League, already from the next round, the 32nd (of a total of 38), which is disputed between today and Monday.
The game Ankaragücü-Gaziantep, decisive in the fight for maintenance, will also have a foreign VAR.
The announcement comes after criticism from Fenerbahçe president Ali Koç, according to whom the club lost "too many titles in a dubious way", which even motivated the abandonment of the Turkish Super Cup match, with Galatasaray, played on Sunday, as a form of protest.
Fenerbahçe entered the field with 11 players from the U-19 team and, after conceding the first goal, right in the first minute, returned to the locker room, which led the Turkish federation to declare Galatasaray the winner, 3-0, and to fine the Istanbul club in 115 thousand euros.
