It was on April 24, 1990, that the Hubble Space Telescope was launched, thus beginning a mission that has lasted 34 years.
With today's anniversary, the researchers in charge of Hubble decided to release a new photograph of the galaxy known as Messier 76 - located about 3,400 light-years away from Earth.
Scientists believe that the strange shape of this galaxy is due to the death of a star, a process that will have affected a secondary star and resulted in the strange shape of the dust and gas.
Moreover, the image is a demonstration of what Hubble has allowed the scientific community and how it has contributed to seeing more of the galaxies that surround us. Nowadays, already accompanied by the James Webb Space Telescope, it is likely that Hubble will continue to provide similar photographs at least until the end of this decade.
