Marcelo "forgot about the debt of all those who built the 25th of April"
PAN considered today that the Head of State forgot challenges such as the fight against climate change or the threats to the media and praised the speech delivered by the President of the Assembly of the Republic.

This position was conveyed by Inês de Sousa Real at the end of the solemn session commemorating the 50th anniversary of April 25th at the Assembly of the Republic, an occasion on which she also expressed her apprehension about the rise of forces opposed to democracy and human rights.
"These are forces that want to restore a regime that takes steps backward in human rights, more specifically in women's rights, equality and inclusion", she specified.
Regarding recent positions of Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the PAN deputy says that, when he spoke of the debt in relation to the former colonies, "he forgot the debt in relation to all the people who built April 25th".
"This debt materializes in the importance of embracing new challenges such as combating climate change, medically assisted death or the media, which has been threatened in terms of its stability and independence", she said.
Inês Sousa Real then praised the speech given today by the president of the Assembly of the Republic, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, considering that he made "an open and plural speech", involving the different political forces.
"We welcome the speech of the president of the Assembly of the Republic", she stressed.
